How's your kid's handwriting? If you'd like to see improvement, you'll love the new "Handwriting" MindTime audio from KidCentered.com

How’s your kid’s handwriting? If you’d like to see improvement, you’ll love the new “Handwriting” MindTime audio from KidCentered.com

Some kids just seem to have a knack for neat and orderly handwriting, while others tend to produce “scribble scratch,” as my grade school teacher used to call it. What’s the difference? Does it come down to ability? Motor skills? Patience? Attention to detail? Laziness? Dysgraphia? Learning disability?

Whatever the reason, we know that some kids enjoy writing while others find it to be a chore.

In this unique new audio, we turn handwriting into a game, in order to improve speed and neatness at the same time. Your child will have fun learning to mentally practice faster, neater writing, and the more she/he listens, the greater the improvement you’ll see.

How is this possible?

Neurologists who have studied the brain now know that the brain does not know the difference between what it sees and what it vividly imagines. You might recall a famous “basketball study” back in 1996, proving the power of mental visualization.

Dr. Blaslotto at the University of Chicago conducted a 30-day experiment in which he divided study participants into three groups. The first group practiced freethrows for an hour each day. The second group did not practice at all, but imagined themselves making freethrows for an hour a day — and this is the important part — this group imagined that every freethrow was successful. The third group did nothing.

After 30 days, he retested to see how many freethrows were successful. The first group (physical practice) improved by 24%. The second group (mental practice only) improved by 23% (statistically, a tie). The third group (did nothing) showed no change.

Further research has shown that the most significant improvement comes from a combination of physical and mental practice.

The “Handwriting” MindTime helps your child to vividly imagine writing quickly and neatly, and feeling very satisfied with their imaginary results. It also creates an atmosphere of fun around handwriting, making your child more inclined to want to practice, and to want to see tangible improvements.

Why not try it today? Naturally, it’s included with your Lifetime Membership (just log in to download this audio). Or you can purchase “Handwriting” today by clicking here.

Why would a young child need the new "Deep Relaxation" MindTime™ from KidCentered.com? Let's explore a few reasons.

Why would a young child need the new “Deep Relaxation” MindTime™ from KidCentered.com?

Deep relaxation means dropping into a very calm and peaceful state. This is different from what is achieved in the “Calm” audio from KidCentered.com The purpose of “Calm” is to help your child tap into the well of stillness inside of him/herself.

“Deep Relaxation” has a different purpose. It allows your child to access a deeper, more comprehensive sense of relaxation — similar to a hibernating bear or a deep meditative state.

But would would a small child need such deep relaxation? Here are a few possible reasons:

- Extreme hyperactivity. Meditation — in the true sense of the word — has been proven to calm busy minds and bodies. Many of our MindTime™ audios may be best classified as “guided imagery” or “visualization practice” or “mind exercises.” But “Deep Relaxation” is different, because it creates a true meditative state, bringing a deeper sense of peace, stillness and centering.

- Situational stressors. No matter the age, nearly every child will undergo one form of temporary stress or another during their developmental years. This may include starting at a new school, parents’ separation or divorce, blending two families, moving into a new home or a new city, getting into trouble at school, a new sitter or daycare, or even picking up on parental stress (loss of job, new job, mom returning to the workplace, financial stressors, etc.)

- Relationships. Relationships are so important to children, and because of the high priority placed on close relationships, any disturbances in this area can be rather upsetting. For example: loss of a relative or grandparent, loss of a pet, friend/neighbor/family member moving away, new teacher, a disagreement with a friend, cliques/gossip/bullying, etc.

- Special needs. Kids with special needs require additional support and nurturing, and the ability to relax and center is paramount to their well-being.

That’s not to say that any major stressor or issue needs to be present in order for your child to enjoy “Deep Relaxation.” Why not try it out and see how your kid likes it? After all, if you’re already a Lifetime Member, this MindTime™ is included in your membership.

What about those times when you need to sleep somewhere other than your own bed? Does your child struggle with falling asleep in a strange place?

Ahhh, there’s nothing quite as exquisite as the feeling of sinking into your own bed after a long day of work or play. Even after a fabulous vacation, it’s so nice to come back home to your own bed, isn’t it?

But what about those times when you need to sleep somewhere other than your own bed?

Does your child struggle with falling asleep in a strange place?

Thank goodness there’s now “Restful Sleep” — the newest MindTime™ audio from KidCentered.com

Sometimes there’s just no way to avoid it…

- sleepovers
- visits with friends, relatives, grandparents
- bunking up with a sibling when company is in town visiting
- traveling
- camping
- renovations at home
- housesitting

There are countless reasons why your little one may have to sleep somewhere other than in his or her own bed. And when that happens, the adjustment is not always easy.

I have 3 kids and two are solid sleepers, but one has always had a tough time falling asleep. She took the longest of the three to learn to sleep through the night as a baby, and even throughout preschool and kindergarten, there were many nights when my husband and I were awakened to the whimpers of a little lost girl who — try as she might — just couldn’t seem to fall asleep, even in her own bed.

We tried so many things — from nightlights and salt lamps and crystals and dream catchers to consistent bedtime rituals and classical music and endless bedtime stories. We tried milk and baths and reassurance and, well, just about everything you can think of!

Then I launched KidCentered.com and she was the first to try out the “Calm” meditation. Soon after, “Restful Sleep” followed, which has helped her tremendously. After just a couple of weeks of occasional listening, what used to be a frequent occurrence has dwindled down to a once-a-month or less often interruption in sleep pattern.

And now, thanks to “Sleep Here,” my little troubled sleeper will be able to easily fall asleep wherever we are — which is good news, since we have a few camping trips scheduled this summer, not to mention some family visits, which will have her bunking up in her sissy’s room for a couple of weeks this summer.

“Sleep here” is a soothing, relaxing guided audio designed to help your child to collect the warm and cozy feelings of sleeping in their own bed, and transfer these feelings to any sleeping space, whether it’s in a sleeping bag at a strange house for a friend’s sleepover, or in grandma’s spare room, or in a tent, or in a hotel room for a family vacation.

We recommend bringing “Sleep Here” with you when you travel – the best result will be to let your child listen to it in his or her own bed, before you leave home, and then again, in the space where he/she will sleep while away.

When you try it out, let us know how you like it ! and remember, you can always request specific topics for new MindTimes. If we have enough interest, we can create your special request.

Finally! Splork is so happy to tell you that the newest batch of MindTime audios has just been published! Huzzah!

If you’re already a Lifetime Member, you’ll see the new audios in your member center. Just log in to access now.

Not yet a Lifetime Member? Seriously? Well, click here to find out what parents are raving about…

Here are the new topics, along with a brief description of each (visit the shop to purchase individual MindTimes):

Sleep Here – Let the child listen to this audio wherever you’d like them to sleep. This MindTime can be used in two different ways: to help little ones sleep in their own bed, and alternatively, to help him or her to adapt when they need to sleep elsewhere (at Grandma’s, in a hotel, at a friend’s sleepover, etc.)

Deep Relaxation – This MindTime audio is designed to help your child experience deep relaxation. While suitable for use any time, this would be especially useful during (or prior to) periods of stress of change. For example, while a parent is traveling away from the family, before and just after moving into a new home, changing schools, etc.

Handwriting – Handwriting is a struggle for many children (and some adults!), and it takes time to form each letter and word neatly and legibly. This audio is designed to help your child improve the neatness of their handwriting, as well as gradually pick up speed. This is beneficial for children and adults who write in print, cursive, or both.

Retention – No matter how quickly or slowly your child can read, what really matters is how much he/she can retain from the reading. This audio is designed to enhance overall reading retention and reading comprehension.

Focus – It’s not only the kids with ADD and ADHD who have trouble concentrating, and with current advances in technology, there are more distractions afoot than ever. Many adults still suffer from difficulty in maintaining focus. The whole family can benefit from this MindTime audio, designed to improve the ability to concentrate, and to focus on one subject at a time – whichever one requires attention right now.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KidCentered.com Founder Amy Scott Grant to Appear on The Inspiration Show
Amy Scott Grant, founder of MindTime™ meditations for children (distributed through KidCentered.com), set to star on Natalie Ledwell’s newest edition of the weekly web series, “The Inspiration Show.”

Castle Rock, CO. March 17, 2013 — KidCentered is proud to announce that founder, Amy Scott Grant will appear on Natalie Ledwell’s hugely popular web show, “The Inspiration Show,” Monday March 18, 2013. Grant, the founder of KidCentered.com will discuss the ways meditation can assist parents and children with behavioral problems such as:
•	Trouble sleeping
•	Picking up and cleaning up
•	Overactive behavior
•	Acting out
•	Problems in school
•	Social challenges
•	Sibling rivalry
•	Discipline and defiance
•	And much more…

“The kids are where it’s at right now. This is our next generation of leaders.” says Grant.
Law of Attraction guru and Mind Movies co-founder Natalie Ledwell stated, “I have been noticing that not only are younger children naturally intuitive…but even young adults as well, that [say] ‘I’m not making a big enough contribution to humanity, how can I do more?’ …I want to get these tools into the hands of more young people.”

But does a five-year-old really need to meditate? Are middle school children highly stressed and in need of enlightenment? According to the Dalai Lama, the answer is a clear and certain yes. The well-known leader was recently quoted as saying, “If every eight-year-old is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation.”

Parents concerned over recent school shootings and other acts of violence by children and teens are willing to try meditation. “When I heard about the MindTime concept, I got so excited,” says Alissa Smith, a New York mother of six. “I really appreciate the fact that there’s something to benefit each member of the family. My husband and I have been looking for something like this for some time, and we are definitely getting a lifetime membership.”
MindTime™ meditation audios from KidCentered.com are reasonably priced at under ten dollars each, but Grant says she expects many parents to choose the value-priced Lifetime Membership option, which grants access to all audios (including new ones, as released) for a one-time payment of $197 (introductory price). KidCentered.com expects to have more than 100 audio topics available by the end of this year. To learn more, visit http://KidCentered.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KidCentered.com Launches MindTime™ Meditation for Kids, Thrilled Parents Rejoice

Castle Rock, CO. February 21, 2013 — Parents in search of simpler, more effective ways of raising calmer, healthier children may finally be in luck. The answer? MindTime™ meditation audios for kids. On February 22, 2013, spiritual intuitive and mother of three, Amy Scott Grant, will launch KidCentered.com, to fulfill a vision of “centering the world, one kid at a time.”

For the past decade, Grant has successfully worked with individuals and groups to facilitate positive emotional, physical and behavioral changes through intuitive work. Grant uses her own intuitive parenting style in raising her children alongside husband Andy, but says she has “grown tired of watching good parents struggle.” Hence the birth of KidCentered.com.

“I remember ten years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child, I was really nervous,” says Grant. “I had never been a babysitter, and I was the youngest in my family, so I had zero experience with babies and kids. The best parenting advice I ever received was from my mother, who said, ‘you know more than you think you know.’ I believed her, and that’s when I really started to trust my intuition as a parent.”

Skeptics will be relieved to learn that the benefits of meditation are more tangible than intuitive parenting. Over the past two decades the NIH (National Institute of Health) has granted more than $20million to multiple research studies involving the effects of meditation. Study results show meditation benefits include: decreased blood pressure in hypertensive subjects; decreased incidence of metabolic syndrome; measurable improvements in ADD and ADHD; lower stress levels; improved cognitive function; and enhanced creativity, to name a few.

“When I heard about the MindTime™ concept, I got so excited,” says Alissa Smith, a New York mother of six. “I really appreciate the fact that there’s something to benefit each member of the family. My husband and I have been looking for something like this for some time, and we are definitely getting a lifetime membership.”

“It’s been said that parenting is the toughest job in the world, and it’s getting tougher all the time.” says Grant. “But we’re not finding the answers we need in parenting books and magazines. Learning to parent in a more intuitive way, and to involve the child in their own self-growth is a very real, very viable solution. It causes less stress on the whole family, and helps to develop a more spiritually advanced and centered child. That’s exactly what we’ve created with the MindTime™ audios from KidCentered.com. They’re fun, friendly, and non-threatening, and they really work.”

MindTime™ meditation audios from KidCentered.com are reasonably priced at under ten dollars each, but Grant says she expects most parents to choose the value-priced Lifetime Membership option, which grants access to all audios (including new ones, as released) for a one-time payment of $197 (introductory price). KidCentered.com expects to have more than 100 audio topics available by the end of this year. To learn more, visit http://KidCentered.com

——————————————————————————————–
