What is meditation?

There are many forms of meditation, but in general, the idea is to train the mind to create a state of consciousness. In this open state of mind, we are more receptive to positive suggestions.

Yes. In fact, in Montessori schools across the world, “The Silence Game” (a form of quiet meditation) is taught and practiced daily, as a way of quieting the mind and helping children to learn self-discipline and self-control.

Why is meditation helpful?

There are many benefits to meditation, but here are some of the most common: emotional balance, improved immunity, enhanced memory and focus, calmness, greater ability to manage one’s own moods, improvement in certain health conditions (high blood pressure, stress levels, digestive issues, inflammation, etc.), higher levels of concentration, etc.

Isn’t meditation just some new-age mumbo jumbo?

No. In fact, there is quite a bit of research supporting the positive effects of meditation on brain activity. According to Psychology Today, “Neuroscientists have discovered changes in the brain act that meditators shift their brain activity to different areas of the cortex – brain waves in the stress-prone right frontal cortex move to the calmer left frontal cortex. This mental shift decreases the negative effects of stress, mild depression and anxiety. There is also less activity in the amygdala, where the brain processes fear.” A quick online search will reveal many scientific studies (including those performed at MIT and Harvard Medical School) with findings that support the benefits of meditation.


How soon can I expect to see results?

Results will vary from individual to individual. Some kids and adults are highly receptive to meditation, and may see immediate results, even after listening to an audio just once. Others may be somewhat resistant, and may need to listen to a MindTime audio many times before exhibiting a specific result. On average, our test subjects (who listened to an audio just once a day) began to experience results within two weeks.

Can adults use it too?

Yes! In fact, we encourage adults to try the MindTime audios — besides modeling a good example, you’ll get to hear what your child will be listening to, and you can also experience results for yourself. Some topics are more general, and apply to all ages, while other topics will be more relevant to kids of certain ages.

Why are the audios so short?/Why are the audios so long?

In experimenting with different length audios, we have found this to be the most optimal length (about 10 minutes). Any shorter and the mind does not have sufficient time to enter a relaxed state. Any longer and the kids (and adults!) can become distracted. Additionally, we’ve found that 10 minutes is the perfect amount of MindTime for busy kids and their parents.

How can I suggest a topic for a meditation?

How often should my child listen to an audio?

Ideally, the child would listen to an audio once a day. Alternatively, you can rotate through several audios, changing topics each day. If you are looking for rapid progress in a particular area, let your child listen to that MindTime audio once a day for at least two weeks straight before you switch to a different topic.

What if I/he/she falls asleep while listening?

No problem. This usually indicates deep relaxation, and as long as the headphones stay on, it’s working even while they sleep.

What ages are best suited for MindTime™ audios?

MindTime™ audios, while crafted specifically for children, can be used by kids and adults of any age. You may find that certain topics are more suited to your child’s age. As soon as your child can sit or lie down, and keep headphones on for the full duration of a MindTime audio (about 10 minutes) then he or she can benefit from their use. This can start anywhere from age two or three and continue into teenage years and beyond. Because meditation has so many benefits, we recommend starting as soon as possible.

How do I access the audios I purchased?

Log into your member account (there’s a login panel on the right — in the sidebar of this page) and follow the instructions. You’ll be able to access whichever audios you’ve purchased…or, if you bought the Lifetime Membership, then you’ll have full access to the whole kit ‘n caboodle.

What is your refund policy?

We offer a 60-day money-back guarantee on all MindTime™ audios and on Lifetime Memberships. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, please contact us by email or by phone at 303.736.9269 within two months of purchase, and we will facilitate a prompt refund.

I didn’t get a confirmation link. What should I do now?

Sometimes (not often), it can take up to ten minutes to receive a confirmation email. Usually it arrives within just a couple of minutes. Check your spam folder or filter! Some email service providers (especially comcast.net) erroneously mark valuable emails like ours as spam. If it’s been at least 10 minutes and you’ve checked your spam folder and still no confirmation email, then drop us a line and we’ll get right on it.

How do I cancel my membership?

Actually, there are no recurring payments, so there’s nothing to cancel. You can simply stop using the site at any time. A Charter Lifetime Membership means you’ll get free unlimited access to ALL MindTime meditation audios, including every new one we create. If you decide you no longer want this (though we can’t imagine why you wouldn’t!) then simply unsubscribe and we won’t ever email you again. Yep, pretty simple.

How do I unsubscribe from the mailing list?

Easy as pie! Just open any email we’ve sent you, scroll down to the bottom of it, and follow the instructions to unsubscribe. Click once, and it’s done!
